Pilates & Muscle Balancing
Pilates is a systematized form of exercise focusing on core strengthening and stabilization. All the core muscles need to work in synergy with each other to allow the joints to generate maximal power, and be maximally loaded with minimal risk of injury. Pilates is a full body, head to toe workout. Pilates can be done on equipment utilizing springs as tension such as a reformer.
Due to previous injury, pore postural habits and lack of activity our muscles can become chronically tight to brace for weaker muscles. This creates dysfunction and faulty movement patterns within the body, setting the body up for potential breakdown and injury. Through a series of movement patterns and muscle testing the imbalanced muscles are identified. How do you know if you need muscle balancing? If you participate in any aspect of life, chances are you need muscle balancing. Weather you are a competitive athlete or office worker, young or old, previous history of general aches and pains, you would benefit from identifying imbalances within your body and striving to correct them.
